Description
A landmark of Canadian labour cinema, Final Offer chronicles the pivotal 1984 split between the United Auto Workers and the birth of the Canadian Auto Workers union. With automation looming, the film captures life on the picket line and the birth of a movement.
Director Sturla Gunnarsson will be joined by Lana Payne (President of Unifor) in a discussion, moderated by actress and activist Arden R. Ryshpen, following the screening. Piers Handling will introduce the brilliant NFB documentary, screening on its 40th anniversary.
