The live discussion will feature Dr. Samir Sinha, Canada's foremost geriatrician and the director of Health Policy and Research at TMU's National Institute on Ageing. James Heron, Executive Director of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre will moderate.
Film Synopsis:
In a Japan of the near future, government program Plan 75 encourages senior citizens to be voluntarily euthanized to remedy a super-aged society. An elderly woman whose means of survival are vanishing, a pragmatic Plan 75 salesman, and a young Filipino laborer face choices of life and death.
"Plan 75" received the Caméra d'Or Special Mention at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, 2022.

Shantay is a seasoned professional in the entertainment industry, currently serving as a Digital Project Manager at Corus Entertainment. Shantay holds the esteemed position of Co-chair of BOLD, Corus' Black Identifying Employee Resource Group, where she advocates for diversity and inclusion within the organization.
Recognizing the need for upliftment and support for Black artists, Shantay founded and leads a non-profit organization entitled Black Creative Alliances (BCA). Through BCA, Shantay strives to bridge the gap between artist culture and the entertainment industry, promoting inclusivity and empowering Black artists to thrive.
Shantay's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Film and Media Studies from York University and a graduate degree in Creative Industries Management from Sheridan College.
